Another World is Possible
Anti-WEF Coalition, based in New York City. Formed in December of 2001, the Better World Coalition came together in order to oppose the 2002 meeting of the World Economic Forum in New York. The WEF is an annual meeting of CEOs and goverment officials who help to shape and steer the neo-liberal agenda of corporate dominance. The Another World Coalition calls on anti-globalization, student, immigrant, community and union organizations and all working people to join us in protest of the WEFs destructive plans.

Anti-Capitalist Convergence
We are calling for for a joyous, creative resistance to the WEF's stifling grey culture of corporate conformity; actions whose diversity of tactics will reflect the rich diversity of our city's communities. We are calling for actions based on principles of non-hierarchy, passionate opposition to patriarchy, white supremacy, and rule-by-elite, and the vision of a world in which no one has to live in fear or daily terror. We are calling for a world in which states and their wars, the economic violence and insecurity promulgated by their corporate overlords, the hideous legacy of 500 years of colonialism and racism, and the violence and intolerance of every kind of crusader and religious fanatic will finally be banished from this earth.

Arts in Action

New York Social Forum
We invite all locally based social and economic justice organizations and groups from anti-racist, anti-sexist, and anti- oppression struggles, and locally based anti-globalization collectives and groups to participate in a Social Forum, for the communication and exchange of social and economic projects that promote human rights, fight for social justice, and build sustainable and multi-racial networks and structures.

Public Citizen
Davos on the Hudson: Organize for the WEF in NYC
A Clarion Call to all Area Activists Fighting Corporate Globalization. The allies and affiliates of the ad-hoc Knickerbocker Fair Trade Campaign invite to help plan a civil society welcome to the political and corporate elites coming to NYC.

The Public Eye on Davos
"The Public Eye on Davos“ is a joint initiative of NGOs from various countries worldwide. The project aims to provide informed criticism of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the neoliberal policies it promotes. At the same time, „Public Eye on Davos“ is the name of an international conference that takes place during the same period as the WEF annual meeting. Until this year, both the WEF annual meeting and the “Public Eye on Davos” took place in Davos.

World Social Forum
The World Social Forum is an open meeting space designed for in-depth reflection, democratic debate of ideas, formulation of proposals, free exchange of experiences and planning of effective action among entities and movements of civil society that oppose neoliberalism and a world dominated by capital and any form of imperialism and that are engaged in building a planetary society centered on the human being.
